turbo issue? dont know what it could be

i have just put a 1g turbo on my car.. car runs great an pulls hard for what it is.. but the issue is when i hit boost the turbo will lag for a sec... first gear it pulls fine... but the other for gears suffer from the lag... its not a big lag just a split second then the turbo will spool up as if there were no issues.. can someone tell me what the problem is thanks....

have you done a boost leak test to see if it is holding pressure or you are losing boost when it hits lag

check for exhaust leaks. and it could just be that its a slightly bigger turbo so its bound to lag more.

I do have the bov vented to atmosphere... Would that be an issue.... But also my boost does not hold... I got it set for 18 pounds but when I get to the top of the gear the boost drops to 15 psi... Or jumps around in that area 14-16 psi...

More DETAILS would be awesome. We are not psychic. Need to know What turbo it is. Shaft play? In or out, side to side? Have you done a boost leak test? Have you checked the timing? Do you have a logger? Are you running rich or lean? RECIRCULATE your BOV, that is causes any and most problems.

i think he put a 14b since he said 1g turbo. unless he put on a 13g.

14b running a little to the lean side.. When I changed the turbo I change maifold to aftermarket an removed cat... I have a greddy rs bob how woul I go about recirculating that...

Buying a rubber tube and an adapter for the bov if needed. You HAVE to recirculate that thing if you do not have a MAF translater. That measures the air AFTER the bov so you can recirculate if you wish. You have the stock 2g MAS which is BEFORE the bov, releasing calculated air can make your car run like crap. But you did put a nice amount of mods on with no tuning management. How are you controlling the 550's? The 14b turbo pushes more air than the t25, that right there is one of the reason's you are running lean. It's about time for you to buy some tuning tools and get a tune man.

Yea I was just going to take it to a local tuning spot around the way.. I'm a little nevlrgous tuning my self... But to be hnost with you I'm selling the car now.. I bought it for 3400.. With not alot of mods but I steped it up a Lil... The car is clean in and out.. Just not interested in it no more really for the fact that it's really no point of putting alot of power into a front wheel drive car... No matter how fast I make it the truth is I will never be able to beat an awd car or rwd car of the line.. So imma sell the car for 3700obo.. So if any body is interested let me know...

Before before I changed the turbo it was idling rough, for instance when I came to a stop the would cut off at times or drop down real low like 200rpm.. Then bounce up.. But since I did them several mods it doesn't idle like that no more ran like it's ciculated again...

From the sound of it, that BOV definitely needs to be recirculated. I think we can can all agree on that. Do that first, work on your engine managment situation, then see where that puts you..

your bov needs to be recirculated as said before.

i have a vented bov and it kind of makes my car want to die so i raised the idle a lil bit and i turned the screw on the maf to lean it out a little bit and it doesnt die any more.

i was going to put a 1g bov on it but it got stolen along with my injectors.
