Im currently shopping for a new turbo so my current T-25 can find a new home in the dumpster where it belongs:D I have been leaning towards the EVOIII 16G untill I came across the SBR2g20G.Its a bolt on for my 2G and comes fully ported with 34mm WG valve for $899 shipped.I have over $1,500 to spend.Do you think this turbo would be more practical then buying an EVO 16g?How do the two turbos compare??Also what injectors would you suggest for the 20G?660s?Thanks for the help.:thumb:

Definitely 660s or maybe higher to maximize the benefits of the 20G.

You might also want to start shopping for a FMIC.

20g will make more power in the long run.. the evo 16G is a good street turbo. this threads are really pointless without your knowing what goal HP/torque you plan to make, streetability, setup .. etc.

on a 1500 setup i'd do the following:

680: SBR EVO 16G ported with 34mm flapper
200: 2g install kit
200 or so : 550's
300: SAFC II
that makes a total of 1380

after that save up for the FMIC and get the car TUNED. AFTER all that is done and you've got the boost up around 20-21 psi you should be a happy camper :thumb:

oh and btw, i think the regular 20G needs an install kit.. the SBR2G20G is the one that will bolt right up [ i think ]

If you want more power potential / more money spent go 20G

If you want less power potential / less money spent go Evo16G

It is all up to your goals. The streetability factor is almost the same for the 2 and being you are FWD like I am.....well lets just say the 20G is streetable in my car.:thumb:

Ah cool since you have the exact turbo can you give me some feedback on it?How was installation? What did you need?If you had the decision again would you still go with that turbo?thanks

It was the same as just swapping out the t25. I did alittle more then just the turbo at the time though.

But basically all you need to do is 'dent' the waterline and bolt things back up.

Sign on to AIM and I will talk to you more about it/

I also have the SBR 2G20g, however I did not have to dent any water pipes. The install wasn't bad at all, I had to buy some extended water hose to replace the stock pre-bent sections, file down my stock oil return line, and I HAD to replace the stock oil feed line with an RRE unit.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd defenitely go with the PTE 50 trim for 899. Its about what I spent (I think???) but seems to have far more tuning support out to compare/contrast with.

PS - I've got 660's on a 255lph pump SAFC and a pocketlogger with no problem flowing more than enough fuel.

I think, you should be choosing between a 16g or 50trim. For the price a 50 trim is a great alternative to the 20g, and either way your going to need plenty of tuning and supporting mods. Or you could spend less money and get the 16g. Its still a major improvment over the T-25 and youll have a ton of fun with it.

I am sorry for the confusion. I ordered the tdo6h 2g20g and since Mike was out of that combo he sent me a full SBR-20g.

It is too big to just bolt up so I had to dent in the water pipe. It was rotated for me and he also welded the J-outlet for the intercooler piping. I guess I got lucky and got an even better upgrade for the regular 2g20g. Fully ported and polished at that.:thumb:

At what intake PSI and what fuel pressure? Just wondering.

Then you should go with the 20g. It will require you to push the turbo less to reach those numbers. The evo16 will probly get you there (350 hp range) aswell, just make you try harder for the lower 400 number you desire.

Now it is up to you.

I dont have a FPR yet, so I am sure the fuel pressure is way too high. I'm still working with my high settings, but my low throttle settings are all over -25%. I still dont think my highs are even at 0 for the upper RPMs....

Well right now im even looking into the SBR-G50:) Im not sure if a 50-trim would be too much for me...naa it wouldnt be:D

Ahh, see, well there you go. If you were running 25lbs, do you think you'd still not be close to maxing those 660s? :D
