Turbo heat and carbon fiber hoods

ive had my carbon fiber hood for about 4yrs, no problems cracking and that thing gets hot. the brand is hahn carbon fiber, not to be associated with hahn race craft

Good quality or not any carbon fiber hood can crack. Like I stated in my earlier post mine was a VIS hood and it is cracked from the heat with the heat shield installed. After daily driving it is very hot on the hood. This may have to do with the fact that it is the invader style and drops down lower over the exhaust manifold than an OEM style hood. I may trying to fix it and will install the thermal covering that was on the OEM hood onto the carbon fiber hood.

I did contact VIS and they were of no help regaurding the problems that I have had. All they could offer is for me to resand and repaint. Well if anyone has priced getting a hood clear coated it is around $350. Not sure but I may just try and sell the hood the way it is and buy a new one.
