I've replaced both front drive axles and seals on my '90 Talon AWD. The passenger side axle seal isn't sealing correctly and the car slowly leaks gear oil. I have replaced the axle seal 3 times already (1 oem and 2 aftermarket) and it still leaks. I'm following the directions in the Mitsu service manual..........any tips or tricks to doing this? Should I be replacing the locking axle clip everytime I remove the axle? Could something else cause the axle seal to leak?

Thanks,

Justin

Make sure you the seal is in the correct place... I'm pretty sure you can push them in too far causing them to leak... As far as the axle clips, i have takin axles out and put the same one back in and havent had any problems so i doubt that you have to worry about that.

Thanks,

Should the axle seal sit flush with the transmission axle opening even though there is a lip on the inside of the transmission?
