The boot is nothing more than just a dust cover. You don't even need it to be honest, but I would't remove it. What I would be concerned with however is the amount of oil surrounding the bottom of the tranny, you need ti clean it off really good and find the source of the leak, and then you can panic  . Does the clutch feel soft or spongy? It also could be your rear main seal leaking. That would allow oil to seep out of the bell housing and run down your tranny. Good luck man :dsm:

No clutch feels fine. i thought that was were all the oil was leaking out of the boot. thats why i was worried about the boot. All gears are kinda screwed up. They have two clicks when i try to put it into gear sometimes not one smooth shift. so sometimes i think its in gear but it only clicked once not twice and it pops out .

Do i fill the tranny fluid up from the 19 mm bolt at the top of the tranny and check the fluid from the 17 mm bolt at the front?

thanks for the help. :talon:

That's the clutch slave cylinder. You need to replace it and the master cylinder at the same time. If you do a search on slave and master cylinder then you will find this need for the replacement of both at the same time to be crucial. Once you fix this problem then you will be better prepared for any additional shifter/gear engagement issues. You should also check for excessive play in your shifter and shifter cables. With the help of a friend, watch for travel in the shifter mechanism PRIOR to movement of the shift forks. The input at the shifter should move the cables almost immediately. If they don't, you could have worn out shifter bushings under the center console or the bushings on the transmission itself.

tranny fill bolt takes a 17mm socket.

You might want to pull the drain bolt off first and check the condition of the oil, and to make sure you have some left!
