Ok well you guys were right of course, I spun my rod bearing AGAIN, after replacing them all, 4 days later i spun it again. So logic says crank is damaged, and now Im going to just build the motor up. I already have a new head and timing belt and oil pump and water pump, so im going to buy this 2.3l stroker kit with 8.8:1 wiseco .020 pistons and eagle rods with ARP rod bolts.

And im going to buy my fuel pump and my 750's while im at it. Sound like a good plan? I assume im going to have to do some major tuning seeings that I will be changing the displacement of the motor, correct?

What do you plan on tunning with?? Its not necasarily the increase in engine displacement that will require drastic tunning. It will be the much larger than stock injectors. Second with 750's you will be pushing the limits of an S-AFC if you decide to go that route.

Damn thats a lot. I got the same stuff for my kit brand new for $400 less.

Anywho, I suggest also spending the money and getting DSMLink and setting you baseline settings to that of a 2g, with higher comp. This way, you won't be running out of timing, and getting a bad tune and lots of knock.

CRAP, sorry guys i totally forgot about that, i just got dsmlink installed not too long ago so I have been busy playing with all its little features, Im making all my tuner friends jealous cause to get that kind of functionality they have to buy full engine management systems :) thumbs up DSMLink!

Well I've been reading and searching and I see some people saying that a stroker isnt recommended for FWD and it depends on what your looking to do. So lets see if someone can help me out here. I want to have a mid-low 12 second street car, but im sure once i hit that point i will want 11's if possible. Right now Im running a Big16G and it is less than 1000 miles old, so I wont be upgrading within the next year or year and a half, i want to run around 20lbs of boost maybe like 24 at the track. Ok, with that said, stroker or not? And if not to stroke it, what combo of rods/pistons should I get?

Screw what every one else says. I'm FWD, and I'm stroking it out. I'll save up and buy a full LSD too, that will make a huge difference with traction.

Its so easy to built up a fast AWD, no one really wants to try it with FWD. Well I'm different, and I do. You know how much more it means to hit 11's or 12's w/ a FWD? A lot.

^^Just what Dan said, I was going to do an awd swap but that fell through so now I am going to keep my fwd. The people that tell you fwd is not good with a stroker/lots of power/blah blah blah are the people that want instant results without working at anything. To fully harness the capabilities of a fwd car you just have to spend a bit more time and effort for the cause and you will be there with the best of the awd's. Not to mention the satisfaction you get when doing it.

Yea I hate when ppl ask if I am AWD and im like no, and they are "oh that sucks" actually no it doesnt suck, cause when im running with/faster than the AWD's I can actually say I accomplished something. And you guys have now inspired me to stroke it out and run for low 12's. Thanks guys.

Ok, well ive been looking around, and compiling my list of death.
SBR 2.3l stroker kit with wiseco 8.8:1 pistons .020 overbore and Eagle Rods
ACT2100 clutch
walbro 190lph pump
FIC 750cc injectors
Prothane motor mounts

And i believe that is "all" for now. I cant think of anything else i need. Just wanted to make sure im not missing anything here.

Go with a 2600, the 2100 won't last with repeated track days. I know people say its too much clutch for a fwd but its not. I have actually bene contemplating going to an act 2900 with my next clutch purchase.

hmmm 2600 isnt too much more expensive, but damn i totalled up the above list and i got a total of 2200 :( then i gotta have the shop rebuild it. so im lookin in the neighborhood of 3k for this. I gotta find a place to get this cheaper or something cause 3k is going to kill me.
