ok so I have a 98 GST. . . . the guy that had the car before me had it tuned on a safc, it ran perfect. He started messing with the safc and the car runs like shit and wont see boost and bucks like crazy(sounds like launch control when driving). . . and I bought the car for CHEAP hoping I can fix the problem, but its kickin my a$$.:beatentodeath: The safc is now takin off, and i thought the problem was the MAF sensor because you can unplug it and it will see boost and go all the way to 7 grand but as soon as you plug it back in it starts going ape $hit again. I bought a new one and it does the same thing. I need help please someone help me. Also its throwing a TPS code and i replaced that and I think I calibrated it right, but who knows. HELP!!

well i left the MAF sensor unplugged all night then took it off and started the car with no MAF sensor. the car died obviously but then when i hooked it all back up it ran to redline and hit boost but it still has ALOT of hesitation and lag. Any ideas?

I would do the following:

A: do a boost leak test.
B: I would double check the wiring down by the ECU where the AFC was wired in. Did you remove it fully or just unplug it? Since you have to cut one wire when installing the AFC, I would highly recommend that you check and make sure that the wire is fully connected back together again. The wire that you have to cut goes to your Mass Airflow Sensor and could be the culprit of your problems.

Let us know after checking all your wiring and boost leak test!

alright i found a boost leak, the shop that just put my new head on didn't put a gasket between the J-pipe and the turbo so yeah LOL, but around 4000-5000 RPM's it holds boost but the RPm's arent going anywhere. I checked the wire by the ECU(black I think) and it's cut but still fully connected. HELP!

Yes i understand that it is fully connected but you need to check each individual wire to make sure it is fully connected together and not touching another wire/grounding out.

Im glad the boost leak fixed some of your problem...
