Ok I have heard if sime diiffernt things about Cat-Backs and the whole thing about making your pipes bigger... so wich one is better?

Cat-Back: I heard that the cat will give you more of the oputtionty(miss spell) to " show off your power. Also the pipeing is different on the whole Cat, the pipes are srighter giveing you less back presser(tired)=horsepower. is it really worth my money?

Bigger Pipes: ok some of my friends say that this is the same thing as a Cat, but i have also heard that if you take it to a muffler shop they just fallow the OEM pipeing bule print and you will not the the same "effect".
I know it is cheper but i want to know what is the best? Cat or wide pipe?

and if i go this route what kind of muffler should i get?

P.S. I kinda like the the tuneable muffler but that is a new post.

Umm...

You have a catlytic converter(cat) already. Replace it with a test pipe.(A straight pipe that goes in place of the cat).

Read this entire site, it will clear some things up for you.

i am honostly confused by this question. what are you asking? if you should use a cat or not? or running from the manifold back compared to the cat back? please explain.

ok like makeing my stock pipes wider from a muffler shop?

or get like a g-ready catback?

Ok a cat-back is any piping that goes from the cataletic converted to the back of the car.. hence the name cat-back. Now if you are comparing the bending systems used by most muffler shops (press bent) to that of the higher end shops (mandrel bent) .. yes the mandrel bent is better. If you want a cheap system that is better than stock just go up to the muffler shop have them bend you some new pipes like 2.5".. i dunno what size the N/T guys use honostly. Also, if you dont care about emissions you can replace the cat itself for a test pipe which will help the flow quite a bit. Also, you can buy a nice header system that replaces the pipe from the manifold to the test pipe or cat whichever you have at the time for better flow. When you have all the pieces done you will notice the best gain than if you did just one part. The exhaust is only as good as its most restrictive part. So.. the mandrel bent name brand exhaust is a little bit better for performance.. will you notice a difference between that and a local shop made exhaust.. i doubt it for an NT. Just as long as they know what they are doing LOL.
