Well everything on my car was working yesterday, but today I started to do some of the free mods since i just got the car a couple of days ago. And I eliminated all of the 4 vacuum hoses on top of the throttle body and capped them off and took out the bottom honeycomb on my MAF. Now the temp gauge is not working. Was I supposed to still run vacuum lines to the stuff the I disconnected?

I would say hook them back up. your car may be overheating and you wouldnt even know it. thats not a good thing.
If you want selectively remove each hose, and see which one makes the temp. gauge not work. that might be the best move at the moment.
taking out your honeycomb on the MAS shouldnt do that.

Sounds like you either bumped the temp. sending unit or something along those lines. None of the vacuum line elimination lines have anything to do with your temp. gauge. Could just be a coincidense that this happened. I could go out and buy a new temp. sender. Relatively cheap at any auto parts store.

It's funny that you say that since the temp gauge basicly tells you three things: "i'm cold", "i'm not cold", and "i'm about to puke coolant all over the place". It's incredibly inaccurate and by the time it shows you anything, things are far worse than you know. A logger or aftermarket gauge will tell you the truth.

It does sound like you knocked the temp gauge sensor connector off (not to be confused with the engine temp sensor) It's the little guy on the thermostat housing... on my 2G, it should be in the same area for you.
