stock rims

Looking for low pro tires for these stock rims.getting rid of motegi 18's...any suggestions on a good tire size. Thanks ahead

Is there a low profile option.stock size is way too thick looking. Half tempted to find low profile tires for the 18's but I found these stock and in great shape. Even have the center caps which caught me off guard. The car is on lowering springs and don't want to cancel the drop out that I got by putting a big ugly tire on

which rims are you running with those, the idiot before me put 245/40/18's on the motegi and they barely fit what your saying sounds better then some thick ugly tire

Ultimately it comes down to "you get what you pay for". From your questions & comments it sounds like you really don't understand tire & rim sizes & how they work. You might consider doing some R&D before deciding on what tires you want.

Must of had some really crappy tires. I have 225/50-16 which seem just fine with none of the issues you're claiming but these are with BFG KDW's.

You must only go in straight lines. 225 wide on 6 inch wide wheels have horrible body roll accelerating hard in turns. That much overhang and sidewall flex is detrimental to a cars handling no matter the tire make.

I personally like 205 or 215 50/16s. 18" wheels, low profile tires on your dsm and you fall into the category of RICE unless you have a show car.

Hope you like wheel gap cause low-pros on 16s will be hideous. Not to mention the it'll throw off you speedo

Nah I'm going to stick to the factory size tire and rim and get rid of my motegi 18's. The previous owner put them on and it probably threw it all off already. Wheel gap is what started it all so I addressed it with cheap lowering springs for now. Of course the gap will come back im sure with the factory wheels

One thing Is for sure, eclipse factory wheel gap is horrible like a little monster truck or something

FYI - Wheel size has nothing to do with the gap. The tire size and ride height. Personally I try to keep my rim/tire combo matched to the OEM combo size so my speedo reads correctly.

I have stock sized 205/55/16 tires on my stock wheels on my Spyder. I chose the Firestone Indy 500. It was a rare case where you get more than you pay for. I cannot recommend these tires enough. I wouldn't go much wider than 205 on that stock skinny wheel.
In the past, I ran a 205/50/16 on the front wheels for a lower profile look. I liked the look, but it affected my speedometer.

Thumbs up on the Fieestone Indy. Dunlop is Firestines parent company. These tires are hand me downs from Dunlop. I'm running Firestone now but in a 225/50-16.

2 things wrong here.
Dunlop is not Firestone's parent company. Bridgestone is.

Those tires are not "hand me downs." In other parts of the world, they are marketed as the Bridgestone Adrenaline RE003, but due to legal reasons, the Adrenaline line was never brought to the US. They were branded as the Indy500 here because there was not a good Firestone performance tire, and this tire for the bill. The only difference is the name on the side. They are still made in Japan at the Bridgestone plant.

Also, I'm glad that you are satisfied with your Firestone tires.

I guess I was wrong, I always thought these stock rims were 14" like the ugly fan blade looking ones that came with my rs. Were these only available in the 16" option... can't attach the picture for some reason but referring to the silver mag spoke rim above
