Stock Motor Boost Limits

How much boost can a stock motor handle before parts start melting or breaking? I have a stock bottom end and head with the balance shafts removed, arp head studs and Mitsubishi MLS headgasket. Im also running a t3 57trim. Would it be able to hold 25psi?

If it is tuned right it will hold it without a problem. What are you tuning with? I run 22-25 on a 30r on pump.

Do you have a wideband? You'll need one if you don't.

Asking what a "safe boost" for you to run on your particular car with your particular modifications is akin to asking "How much power will my car make if I have ___ done to it?" There's absolutely no way we could give you an honest answer. Your headgasket might fail at 15psi or 50psi. There's no way for us to tell.

yes i know there is no exact way to tell cause each car is different, but im asking as a reference what a stock block with arp head studs and MLS headgasket should be able to hold

I've seen the stock block do miraculous things. It's probably not the right question of how much boost it can handle but how much power it can take. If it's tuned right meaning (TAKING YOUR CAR TO A DYNO), then the stock block can handle about 400-500hp before it's about dead. Your results may vary.

Head bolts
Rod bolts
The cast pistons are really only a problem if you detonate. But, even on a good tune you'll still detonate some. Just be careful and keep your wits about you when you tune.

Shoot, I'm more of a fan of a stock composite style headgasket than I am of a metal one these days. If it's gonna blow I'd rater my head gasket blow than put a hole in a piston!!
