I bet you $20 you have a FWD starter. If I recall correctly, the awd flywheel is smaller than the fwd flywheel.

its a fwd ima have to make sure i have the right starter but im not understanding how it was working fine before i took my head off to change the head gasket and i put everything back together an go to crank it an the starter is just free spinning its confusing me and probably everyone else to

I was under the impression it was an awd because its a gsx.

how i check the flywheel turn it with my hand right

yeah sorry bout that LOL i put gsx cause im depating if i want to awd it

the thing about it tho is the starter that was in the car working did it to so i dont think its the starter being for an automatic but it crossed my mind to thanks for the thought tho

Did you by any chance remove the ground wire to one of the starter mounting bolts? Could have a poor ground....enough to spin the starter, but not enough to make the bendix engage?

i no i loosened a ground that was to the block but i couldve swore i tighned it back but ima double check everything ima try an work on my car today an left everyone know what happens
