stall speed

hey auto guys, im going to be getting a high stall torque converter from ipt and im not sure what stall speed to get. I was thinking 3800. My mods are in my profile.

I was wondering the same thing. I'll be running a holset hx-35 this year, do you guys think my 3800rpm stall would cut it?

my mods are, evo3 16g turbo ported, fp race mani, 6bolt head/7bolt bottom end rebuilt, rebuild kit ipt, tranny cooler, shift kit, hahn race craft smic, dsm link, 850cc injectors, 190 walbro rewired, boost controller 22psi, meth injection, etc. And u are the first person to say dont go with ipt converter why?

Well, I have an IPT tc ready to install, and I havn't heard anything negative ever about IPT. By the way, it's against the rules to post something like that. Anyways, my tranny is completely built with all the IPT parts, except for the valve body, I'll tell you how I like it soon enough.

If all your sticking with is the 16g, that stall should be just fine. I'm going with the same size stall for my holset build.

420a-t is right. If you are going to say something negative about a product, don't just go and say something that it sucks or not to use it. Give some details and reasons as to why you are making such a claim.

Anyway, my best friend has an IPT trans, high-stall torque converter, shift kit, etc. in his 98 GSX (BlackedOutGSX is his name on here) and he loves it to death! Very smooth, very sharp gear engagments. Can't recall his stall speed though sorry...
