I don't know much about the difference between AWD and FWD brake lines but I happen to have a set of AWD ss brake lines just sitting around and I have a FWD car. I'm using the 2G AWD front brakes, will the AWD brake likes work or do I need the FWD lines regardless of the calipers I use?

What is the difference? Just length or the fittings used? Thanks

I haven't purchased them yet but I have been pricing them. 95-99 AWD and FWD have the same part number as long as both have rear discs.

Sorry for bringing this back... but I just purchased some 2g N/T brake lines for my 2g AWD. I was hoping these would work and it looks like, from this thread, that they will.

FUTURE NOTE TO OTHERS... searching for 2g N/T SS Brake lines on ebay may end up saving you a good chunk of change. I got my set for under $30 shipped.

Be careful, sometimes a good deal isn't always good. Brake lines are something I would never go cheap on. $50 could mean the difference between life and death, and not just yours. I'd take a very close look at all the connections and inspect the lines after your first week of driving on them and keep checking them frequently after that. You never know what quality control they skipped to get the price down that low.

I appreciate the concern, but this wasn't one of those 'buy it now' cheap priced items. This was actually a case of the lister didn't know how to list his auction very well. I actually had a max bid set as high as $75 and still didn't think I'd win, but when I won the auction the next day... you could imagine how surpised I was. :)

Anyway... now that I'm looking at the picture more closely it looks like these don't use banjo fittings on the front set and I know my front calipers do take banjo fittings. Anyone know where to get an adapter?

Have never heard/seen such an adapter. If their the screw in fitting from the 1g calipers, looks like you'll probably need to buy different lines.

Do you think he maybe could have made the pic abit more blurry? ROFL From what I can sorta see those appear to be the correct lines. The two longer lines are for the front & the ends on the left side do appear to be banjo bolts. The two shorter lines for the rear are screw in fittings. You can also notice the small package that contains the actual banjo bolts & washers. They appear to be the same generic lines that most of the DSM vendors sell, so you should be set.

That's what I was thinking...

I was hoping those were banjo fittings on the far left side of the brake lines, but from the picture I was almost certain they were screw in. But now that you brought up the small package (which I couldn't tell what that could've been) I'm gonna have to agree with you.

...you'd better be right.:p

Just fork over a little extra cash and buy a set of Techna-fit lines. They're DOT certified and its not that much more. I got my set from bonehead performance. Why try to save $50 and risk your life and the life of others on the road.

I recommend techna-fit cause I already blew up a goodridge line and spun out on the street trying to slow down before a upcomming turn. And the thing with the goodridges, the diameter of the stainless line were smaller than my stock lines. The Techna-fits however are stock diameter. The only downfall with the techna-fits is the rear lines are a bit longer than stock, but if you fasten them with a zip tie so it doesn't rub against everything, you'll be set.

And btw, I brought up bonehead performance cause I shopped around and they had the lowest prices. Also, one more thing about the techna-fits, they have a teflon coating over the stainless lines to prevent dirt from getting in between the lines and they come in clear, black, red, blue, and a couple of other colors for that ricey look.

Oh.. C'mon, it's not like I've got neon green white face guages in my dash along with glowing A-piller gauges. Also, I stripped all the stickers off the outside of the car the first day I bought it. :p

Don't worry, my interior looks pretty riced out and I do have two stickers on each side of the exterior (KYB & Eibach). Some would call me a ricer but I build my own stuff, do my own work and don't do it to go cruise main street. Rice is a state of mind, not just a look.

Did anyone mention putting crazy wings on the car? That is about as rice as you get unless you actually race the car and have the other aero to go with it.

BTW, did you get those lines to work?

:) I do have a bit of riceyness in my blood, but like you, I do all my own work and I get pretty technical when I dive into a project.

I haven't gotten them yet... I was hoping to get them by the weekend so that I could finally put my car back together, but they didn't show. I suppose it's alright either way... I'll be buying a new set of tires here next payday, it'll be okay sitting until then.
