Somethings not right

So I just put my car back together after putting in my centerforce clutch and everything seems to be running fine...except I'm getting 3 miles per gallon! WTF She isn't running rough or leaking gas anywhere that I can see. Any suggestions

Do you have a check engine light?

If so your o2 sensor might have just krapped on you.

yeah, 3mpg seems kind of improbable. it would be like watching the needle drop as you drive

Improbable yes, but I went from half tank to "E" in 12 miles. And my check engine light is not on.

Wait until the LIGHT goes on...the gauges are noctoriously faulty in terms of accuracy...ESPECIALLY if you've ever taken off the gauge cluster before.

By light he means low fuel light....right?


Make sure you've got some extra gas with ya, just in case

Yes I mean the low fuel indicator light.

To get 3mpg, you'd have to be ejecting 6 foot flames and plumes of black smoke out the back. Or have a ginormous crack in your fuel tank...neither of which seems to be the case.

Good luck figuring the issue out. Hopefully it's as simple as a 'broken' gauge.

Meaningless. Fill the tank, set the tripmeter to 0, drive until you need gas, and do the math.
