Hey,
I just had my new ported head assembled with SBR's SI dual valve spring/Manley retainer kit. When I went to bolt the head on the block, I had to grind one of the ARP washers to fit under the valve spring and around the stud (washers were put in the head BEFORE the head was put on the block)
BUT the HUGE problem is that with these springs installed the nuts for the head bolts won't clear them. I noticed that the machine shop put what looks like little "cups" under the bottom of the springs and these appear to be causing the problem.
Has anyone used these springs? What spring seats work? What should I tell the machine shop when I take it back? And lastly, I set the head on the block with the gasket on before I realized that the head studs weren't going to work. Is the gasket okay to use or has it been junked by just having the head sit on it for minute? It comes right off the block and still looks fine, just making sure to avoid future problems.
Thanks,
-Jacob
