I just got one of the Victory Performance short route fmic and I have a question about installing it with my evoIII turbo. How did you hook up the piping to your j-pipe? The pipeing in the kit is designed to hook up to a turbo the has an elbow facing the drivers side. Now my j-pipe fromm RRE exits down low on the passenger side like all std j-pipes. What I want to do is just use an elbow to join the j-pipe to the ic pipe, but the problem I think Im going to run into is clearance because of the motor mount, wastegate, rad fans etc. It looks like I will also have to cut the j-pipe shorter since it ends so low. I do have one slim fan but I think I might need another. So if anyone has a setup like this what did you do? and if you had any pics that would be great.

sorry no pics. when i ran this, this is what i did:
- cut the j-pipe about one and half inch away from the flange.
- position the pipe to exit to the driver's side and weld it.
- use an "L" pipe to connect from the j-pipe to the u-pipe that connects to the intercooler.

i hope this helps. i had a custom intercooler. i also used my old dejontool intercooler "L" pipe. good luck.

Your going to need some kind of slimline fan to make all that work. I cut my j-pipe and got a huge 90degree elbow. But, in order to have the lower pipe come across that close to the radiator, i had to get new fans.

hey, thanks Black95TSIawd. i forgot to mention that i removed my fan that blows on the turbo. no side effects though. :thumb:

When I first ordered the kit I thought I could get away with only 1 slim fan, but it looks like I'll need 2 so I'm just going to take off the ac fan for now. The ac is the fan on the drivers side correct?

daren_p - If hacking your j-pipe doesn't work for you, Dejon Tool does sell the j-pipe that you need. It basically makes a 14b/16g a downfiring turbo. Perfect for those side-to-side FMIC's. The only downside is the price. But, you might be able to pick up a used one from eBay or the classifieds for much less like I did. I'll see if I can find a better pic on my home PC this afternoon.....
