I am currently in the process of redoing the complete suspension on my 2g but I am starting up front for now. I was curious if going with OEM parts (spindle, both lower control arms, upper control arm, tie rods,) is the best way to go for the coilovers I am going with? I hear the OEM parts are pretty durable? I am going to be running the "Megan Racing Coilover Damper Kit-Street series". NOT the "EZ" edition. Probably going to run 17" wheels so the drop will be more comfortable but I've seen many 2g's with 18" that look very nice and lowered. Any opinions on the suspension are greatly appreciated.

I was wondering the easiest way to prevent the under-side of the strut towers from rusting? I don't have any rust at all now but I would like to prevent it from ever starting. I figured I'd do this since the entire suspension is removed and I have complete access. Just wondering what others may have done to prevent any future problems with rusting?

Thanks

How long will the car be down for? If awhile, I would sand blast things to clean up. Things you don't want to rebuy & etc.
Are you upgrading the bushings & mounts as well? ES or Solid?
Lower front tie bar? Sway bars upgrades?

18's are great with sticky rubs. I had 18's on BFG's, they cruised well & wheel hop was minimal on stock suspension.

OE parts will be fine with the forces that a car with Megans can produce.

Thanks for the reply.

All the parts come with bushings and ball-joints included if I purchase the OEM stuff. I am also going to deffinately upgrade the sway bar. I'm pretty much going the whole nine-yards with the suspension, so I will be replacing all of the components.

Yea, I'm probably going to go with the 17's so I dont have to worry, plus a little lighter.

I was also looking at the Yonaka Coilovers but I have never heard anything about them. Does anyone know anything about the quallity of these coilovers???

Megans is not the whole nine yards. Not even enough to make prom dress.

Lol..I know this. I meant i was going the whole nine yards with replacing everything. Trust me, I know there's better out there but for my setup and the price for them and the quallity isn't bad, I think it's a good deal. I'm not looking to do any heavy racing, just looking to have a nice ridding car that can handle a little fun here and there:thumb:

FYI you can replace most of the rear items with a 3g eclipse

Thanks. I think I heard that before but I have plans for the rear components. just concerned about the front for now. Thanks again.

"YONAKA COILOVERS".......anyone ever used these or know how well they perform and hold up??? I asked this in an earlier post above but it was scattered in so I thought I'd make it stand out.

Consensus is that no one has really heard of them, which isn't a good sign; my guess is they're your usual knock-offs.

Kind of what I was thinking but the specs on them aren't bad. I just wanted to see if anyone knows anything about them or has used them?
