Hrm, we could go to the Santana Row parking garage by Best Buy, then hit up Denny's somewhere around there (I'm never by my house so I don't know where there is one.)

santa row for me! Im only 3 miles away from santana row :D
but im not sure if its a good location because theres security all over that place. Unless its known to be a kick it spot?

im also down for the q-cup spot or whatever.

Okay guys, it's Thursday, since most people are okay with Q-Cup, the original location for the meet, let's have it there. Here it is again so there is no confusion:

Friday night 10:30ish, March 4th

Q-Cup
1679 N Milpitas Blvd
Milpitas, CA

I'll be there around 10:30, I tried to go there at 10 last week, but I got off work a little later than I expected. I say if it gets crowded (Q-Cup) we drive to another location, but we should at least all meet there. Please post if you are planning to attend or at least going to try to. I'm sure if more people will reply, more people will go. Bay Area meets almost always don't follow through, I think it's because of the timing. I'm trying to get this thing to be on a Friday and at night, most people should be off work or free to go. Let's try to get this thing together. Anybody is welcome to go.

And if only one person shows up (besides me), that's at least a start, right? Let's go! :thumb:

If they come, let um come. I feel its more important that we show up than run from a possible run in with the cops. Plus, we've all made it clear that this is just a hang out and not a drag strip event so we should be cool. Maybe the reason why none of us DSMer's ever show up is because we've got no gas. We're always trying to race or go fast so lets just take this time to slow down, chill and enjoy South Bay DSM. I'll be there rain, sleet or snow, and so will the AWD! Hope to see you cats! Peace!!!!!! :talon:

i'd go but the talon is down :thumbdown
also im leavin for reno... dont really know wtf im gonna do up there.... im only 18 so i cant gamble...
looks like its the strip clubs...

Alright, it's Friday, I'm off to work right now. I'll be there again tonight. If anyone might come late and we go to another spot, you can give me a call @ (408) 386-0572 to see where we are at (if anybody shows). It stopped raining, hopefully it'll stay that way.

My eclipse just went down :thumbdown

Cranks but does not start. We've narrowed it down to the car not sparking.. Coil I guess.. I just need this baby to run till I get a gsx :|

Hey thanks everybody for showing up. It was nice talking to everybody. I think about 11 cars showed up after all. It seemed like a pretty good turn out to me since I didn't even really know anybody and was expecting probably only 1 person to show up. I forgot to bring my camera! I tried talking to everybody, I think I missed a few guys who showed up earlier than I did, if any of you guys who went know who they are, tell them I said thanks for showing up. I think most of the guys who showed up said they are willing to hang out again. So here are some of my thoughts about the meet:

1) Everybody was cool with just hanging out, I like how nobody acted like a fool or whatever.
2) I didn't even go inside Q-Cup for a drink, all of us were in the parking lot, I asked most of the guys, maybe next meet we could go eat somewhere. I heard a lot of good suggestions, so if you guys want to throw them up, let us know.
3) Besides being inside a place and eating, I think we could have some sort of "agenda" or something. Dwnshft brought this to my attention, about everybody meeting up. I was like "Okay, these guys showed up, and we're standing around, now what? " I think some of the guys probably left early because they were thinking the same thing. I feel bad since I was the one who started this thread, I tried talking to everybody. I think if the meet turns out to be with a good amount of people again, we should all get together and possibly talk about the next meet that will happen (where, when, what to do, etc.). Most guys I asked had a lot of ideas, which sounds good to me so for next time all we need to do is narrow it down to a place, time, and date.
4) A question I want to ask to the guys who went is what made you guys want to attend the meet? Is it because most of you guys were from around the area? I know two guys were from Oakland, and some of the people who left early were from Redwood City (I think), how far are you San Jose area guys willing to drive to meet up? Is Union City too far for some? Or not?
5) 10:30 seemed like a good time to meet. TalontedAWD called me up at around 11:15, and most of the guys were still there. We didn't leave until around 1:00, and this was just hanging out at the parking lot.
6) I felt a little more comfortable since I've seen most of the guys who showed up from either that BBQ a long time ago at R&D or the Mt. Hamilton run. It was also nice talking to the few guys I've never seen.

Well, those are my thoughts. For the next meet, let's try to start a thread at least two weeks earlier so we won't have to rush on a decision on a location and stuff. Thanks again everybody for a successful San Jose area meet. :thumb: Hopefully more people can attend the next one.

damm I missed out! I was having minor issues with the ride last night....
I wasnt able to get a new battery for my car in time because of working overtime, and my car wasnt holding charge. Now im having issues with my clutch pedal sticking. Anyone wanna help me bleed my cluctch and install an SS clutch line :thumb:

Hey Eugene, if your rolling out tonight hit me up 415-819-1242. I lost your number for last weekend's meet. It looks like its going to be a nice night with the weather looking all good.

i was tha guy with tha silver eclipse w/ tha hella wing...i'm down to meet up...but once everyone is there...its like now what. i've went to meets before, and still down to attend, juss needs to be a lil more interesting next time. at least people showed up this time though... :thumb:

I think we should have a group of DSMers that go to other car meets. Most of the bimmer meets I hear about are open to all cars. ESPECIALLY the biggest one, the stanford meet/drive. VERY fun, I posted info about the meet here last time but nobody showed. I was the lonely DSM =[ :thumbdown We should really make it a point to go to the next big meet. Represent DSMs! There was a small group of NSXs there even a lotus elise. 100+ cars. I'm on the mailing list so I can keep you guys posted if you like. Have the awd guys give the rich bimmer guys some competition eh? ;)

My friend and I were the ones from Oakland. As everyone said, we need something to do, even tho i did like talking to people. That eating idea was good or curise would be cool.

First off i would just like to say peace everyone!!! YOu know me gotta end the threads with peace but this time i decided to start woth Peace. Yo, i was reall y impressed with the turn out last week. it was really cool to meet everyone and the meet was so chill. Foremost let me thank John for tossing up the idea of the meet, I know many of us entertained the thought but he kinda organized it. So Peace John!!! I really enjoyed meeting all you cats, it was really cool. But as for the concern of not having anything productive to do we can allways eat and talk cars or business. I currently work at Black Angus and i know i can get us the group plug anytime we wanted to go as a meet, or club. I could us 25% off anything on the menu. I tossed the idea around with a few of the cats at the meet to see what they thought , so now im putting it out there for the DSM community to let me know what you guys think. Any just to let you know Black Angus is not the same as it was two years ago, that is you can afford the menu!!! Well holla back, Peace!!!! Oh yea we 're open until 11'00 on the weekends. Peace!!!! :talon:
