Hrm I took my cruise out of my one 1G without making any changes to any cables.

Well... More like my engine fell threw it. I was putting a new engine in my car and it got snagged on the cruise cable and um umm ripped it out of the box mounted on the back of the firewall so I just said #### it and ripped out the whole cruise. Didnt change any cables and the whole thing works fine.

I did the same...sorta.

I removed all of the cruise components but used the factory cruise cable. On the 90 (Don't know about later years) the cruise has two cables. One into the box, and another from the box to the TB. So I just modified it slightly and used the one cable going into the box and rerouted it to the TB. Done.

I used the one that I got from mitsu. It's a way longer cable than necesarry I have 2 loops of it behind my manifold. But the sheething is just the right length and it works perfectly.

THe one that I got was a direct replacement. I didn't have to do anything to the cable. But there was considerable excess. I just took it and made a loop and slid it behind the intake manifold. You never know it's there. I also found it easier to mount it upside down on the manifold.

Here's the part number for the cable you need. The car came with cruise, when I got it the box was gone. When I rebuilt everything, I said screw having cruise control.

Kind of a bad picture, but you can see how it just wraps around the left side over the intake manifold, then back around.

I took the cruse out of my 2nd gen turbo when i did my swap. We took a throttle cable bracket and modified it to fit a bolt through it onto back of the manifold. it cost me $0 to do it

If i remember when i get home i'll take some pics of the beast.

Poor

Id love to get rid of my cruise control. Especially since I have a 1990, its right beside the bov

note that the part number ultraimports provided probably will not work for a 2G . I will find the part number of mine sometime soon and post it. IT's long but you just curl it behing the intake manifold and all is good. No one can even see it. Bolts right up and no problems at all.

To not start a new thread i figured i'd ask the question here.
Was wondering for those without cruise control, other than a cleaner engine bay, did it make your gas pedal softer/lighter ?
I'm looking into deleting mine for now and then next check ordering me a non-cruise throttle cable.

Great thanks dgajre, by the way nice clean engine bay, you have the same fmic kit i have and love the way your engine bay looks without the cc. I will do it. Thanks man.
