I probably should have asked this before I tried it. I was attempting to remove the rear bumber on my 1992 eclipse to get at the rust behind and underneath it, then re-attach my bumber. I finally came to a point where I couldn't find where the screws were that needed to be taken out next. My current number of screws is :5 under the bumber, 2 plastic screws in each fender well, 1 metal screw in each fender well, 1 behind each red light behind the rear tires. Where are the other screws? Also, I was thinking that once you take the bumber off, it is ripped from taking it off and is no good. So can I safley take off the rear bumber and if so, where are the rest of the points it is attached to?

Not sure about 1g DSMs, but in mine, there were some in the trunk next to the wheel wells. If you pull at the bumper, what part of the bumper sticks to the car?

-I checked in the trunk next to the wheel well but that screw seemed like it just connected to the frame of the car.

-What I meant was the 5 scews were underneath the car. How hard is it to remove the tail lights?

i know where your bumpers stuck then ;)
to remove your tails, pull the plastic out of the back of your trunk area (where you access the lights to replace the bulbs, as well as the center peice back there. then you will see studs sticking through with 10mm nuts on them, they can be a pain, but once all of them are removed, you can pull the center tailight section, as well as the sides off. under them you will find a line of bolts.

good luck :thumb:

Well, I failed again.
I was so close to getting it off yesterday except for 2 screws in the trunk that came off easily on the right hand side of the car, but on the drivers side, the power antenna gizmos blocked off the 2 black screws and nothing I tried to reach them with worked. If I really needed to take my bumber off though, I would have removed the antenna electronics but It wasn't that important. Plus I'm bad with electrical stuff so I probably would have wound up messing up the antenna.
