Yeah FWD A/T 13.8@101mph with 15psi on a 20G here. Also nailed a 2.1 60ft that run as well. Not too shabby.
Nice 60' there, I wish I could drop 2/10 of mine, but something sounds weird about your 101 mph, even at 15 psi.

Why does it sound wierd? Are you meaning high or low? If you mean low well.. I'm a big guy and the car was heavy :) I had a 20G turbo and an A/T DSM if that makes a differnce. If you look here http://www.dsmtimes.org/fwd.htm You'll see that mph is not that uncommon especially with the 60ft I was running.

The mph is low. I mean I had a 14.2 @102 at roughly 18 psi (creep and spike on shift) with a big16g and no boost control. I'm a FWD with a 2.3 almost 2.4 60'. But if your car was heavy than that would make sense.

OH yeah one more thing. This was a Hahn 20G and from what I have been told they are not near the MPH demons other 20Gs are. I don't know if that helps. I have my wife trying to dig up the video but even if she finds it I'm going to have to find someone who can convert analog to digital video :(

Yeah it's your standard Tsi A/T but I added a full power leather interior not to mention that I weigh about 300lbs.

In my AWD I ran 103-104mph traps after adding cams with the same turbo on my AWD. I don't understand it myself

Good news, the wife found the 13.8 run and my 13.9. Now I just have to find someone who can put it in digital format. Maybe I'll get lucky and she will find my 2.0 60ft runs as well :)

I could honestly see that. My 95, both when I drove it and when my wife drove it were only "hand tuned". Neither time did the car have any dyno time and that makes the world of difference. In fact it ran so rich when my wife drove it that the car never saw over 1200-1300 degs on the EGT. I know that that does not necessarily matter but she was running pig rich trust me. I know when I took the 97 AWD to the dyno after "hand tuning" it I gained 30hp just from getting it tuned out on the dyno. I totally forgot about the lack of tuning until you mentioned it. Good call :)

O your from Illinois, my older sis told me there was an earthquake in Illinois idk if thats true or not ( u no how siblings are, they lie to eachother) I hope no dsm's were damaged...I no there are alot in and around Chicago.

LOL, yeah there was, it woke me up, but no I don't think it was enough to damage anything big. My car(A/T) is currently not drivable, but we'll see how the weekend goes :D ;) I really wish I had a manual, it's just not as fun to drive!

i really want a torque converter, but i have no idea on which one to get...any tips or suggestions

There are two vendors that I know of that sell them. Level10 and IPT I think is the other one.

Precision Industries for their 9.5 Billet "Dragon" with any stall you want..

PH: 901/466-0267

it'll prob be a good idea to get it dyno tested before you order a TC tho. that way you know where your max torque is to match up with the right TC>

I realize a few of you guys are fwd, I have an awd and just had an amazing 1.83 60ft time last weekend and ran a [email protected]. My only mods are a big 16g turbo and my own custom fab 2.5" turbo back mandrel bent w/ 2 mufflers, also a g-valve boost controller set to 18psi. Car was not happy with those 390's in it but it held together and drove 120 miles back home. I have supporting mods to put on car but this project is coming together slow. Thanks for the space! :talon:

Ahh, the tires are key. I'm going to Island tonight, right now, I'm concerned with beating my MPH, then will come traction.

just hit a 13.3 @105, now i just need to build my tranny for next year and hit 12's.

i was crusin throguh some other forums and some guy told me the right way to shift a auto is to, start in L, punch it, when its about to shift or redline, pop it into 2, then when it shifts pop it back into L, and continue the same process.... i am guessing L accels harder, and shifting into 2 makes it shift faster...? beats me someone gemme a lil feedback, i dont know i havent tried this i have a manual, but i am getting a auto soon and i wanna learn the most i can before i buy it....

No sir! Great way to blow your tranny, even a built one. You can do it several ways...
*just leave the car in D with the OD off and let it shift on its own
*start off in L and shift it manually up but never back down like you mentioned hearing
*start in 2nd and shift from there also

If you start in L and go to redline or near and shift into 2nd that is fine, now 2nd goes to redline and you pop it back to L! Yikes. Try doing that on a manual...rev that biotch up and pop the clutch, then at high RPM shift to second and at near redline shift back to 1st.....not gonna' be good! Maybe you made a typo?

He was prolly talking to a Ford guy, on my Crown Vic, you can force it to second by going from 1 to D and then back to 1, or some wierd thing like that. Part of the wonder that is Ford's AOD tranny.

Although I'm sure there's some kind of misunderstanding in there too :D

Now reading that over it does sound kinda werid LOL, but i think he ment more like, start in L, at redline shift into "2" then it will shift into 2nd gear... probly at about 3500 rpm iduno... then shift it into L.... then at the redline shift back into "2" and your in third now... iduno does any of this sound familar?

I've never heard of that....I do know that if you put a Ford trans in 2nd from a stop it will be in second. Point and case....DON'T DO IT.
Mike

I had a 94 tbird SC and a 95 lincoln mark VIII
Ford AOD tranny>

Put it in L, shift into second at redline and immediately put it back into first, makes the 1-2 shift roughly twice as firm (enough to get the car to kick sideways on the gearshift from spinning the tires and engaging the limited slip)

Prolly not too good for it, but, did seem to make it run quicker. OMG got rid of both of those cars ages ago though. 14's werent fast enough ;)
