Question about a few turbo

I dont know a whole lot about 50 trim setups but the description says that is uses the 7cm exhaust housing so I would assume that it will bolt right up to your mani. I would definately port it pretty good though.

As far as injectors I will leave that one up to the pros.

Good luck and happy boosting

P.S. I have an EVO III big 16g, newly installed and still tuning but very impressed so far vs. the T2small stock turbo. It pulls like a b!tch and requires les mods to perform well.

If you have a 2G it will not just bolt up, you need an istall kit as the turbo is clocked downward like TD06 housings.

50trim is an excellent turbo to choose.

Injector wise you want to go with 660's to 720s.

An AGP RS49 50 trim will bolt right up to the stock manifold and O2 housing. Only equipment required is a new #4 oil supply & return pipe. You just have to loop a couple of the stock coolant lines (turbo is oil cooled) and maybe dent in your main water pipe a bit but that's about it.

I just went from an EVO to a 50 trim, an AGP RS49 to be exact. I had all of the mods for the EVO and am now slower and need new mods so keep that in mind.
50 trims can be had for $699. or less but when you add all you will need the tag comes closer to $900.+
If you want an internal wastegate like I did well add about $100. Garrett oil drain is square no round like a mitsu and most are only oil cooled, no water, so add oil inlet and drain lines. That costs another $100. Then as was said they exit down towards the ground. So you need to have an elbow welded on, add $50. To replace my AGP 50 trim as just described would cost $1000. plus shipping.
bullseye was offering a special but I am not sure if it's over.
Since it looks like you are doing this to a 2G find a member you respect with the turbo of your choice and PM them. Most are glad to help especially when it comes to talking about their rides!!
Now I need to sell the 550's I just bought for the EVO and buy bigger and the stock sidemount will have to go for a front mount IC. I'll have a stainless mandrel bent Buschur 2.5" turbo back available also as I think a 3" will do the 50 trim justice.
The EVO is a great turbo and in my opinion the next jump should be to a 50 trim though plenty of guys are going very fast on 20G's! Mark

Hey everyone thanks for all of your 2cents. After reading everything, and people who have gone from a 16g to the 50trim, im going to start smaller and go 16g

again, everyone, thanks for the advice

And trust me, you will wish you went with the 50 trim after a month or so. That 16g isnt going to change things much since you already have a 14b on your car. You will want a fmic more with the 50trim than the 16g but it will work with the side mount at the moment. Just for comparison, go for a ride in Jerry's car(s16g) and then a ride in Dave's car(50trim) That will tell you all you need to know as to which one to get. Also, keep in mind, 50trim spools a little slower than the 16g, which will probably be beneficial with the fwd.

I'm one of those to go EVO and it lasted 2 months or less when I went with the 50 trim. I thought the EVO was great for the first 2 gears but lacked the pulling power I wanted in higher gears. It all comes down to knowing what you want from the car. mark

I installed a big 16g a few months ago with all the support mods except fmic and I am still very pleased, I was and still am shocked at the H/P gain with the b16g over the 14b, I do not understand when peolpe say they did not gain in power with a 16g upgrade, I just wish I had done mine earlier, I ran a 12.4 @111 a few weeks ago without Nos, I am more than happy with it.

well i know the evo 16g will take me to my current goals. Im getting a FMIC and a new clutch with it, we will see how i sit when everythings togeather.

If I had the power to run a 12.4 Iwould have kept my EVO ! That's an amazing time but not the norm. You sure put together a nice set-up! I'd be pleased to run a 12.4 with my 50 trim. In fact I have seen many 50 trims with similar or slower times listed with their set-ups. Congrats, Mark

Drivers dictate the times not necessarily the turbo. Put a newbie in a 50trim car and a real racer in a 16G ride both similar and I'll take the racer everytime, so poor post there.

VRMAN I agree with you 100% and I must not have been clear. I am NOT one of the good racers here. In fact I haven't been to a track probably since you were born! The guy posting low 12's with the EVO did an exellent job with set-up and driving.
I have no intention of going to a track or street racing. I drive for the little enjoyment I derive from doing it. I could have very well kept the EVO and been satisfied but I got a good deal that put me into a 50 trim for less than $300. and it is a new, unused 50 trim. Some are looking for a dyno number, some et's, others street race, some even road race & show. Edification is what a club should be about in my mind and I will continue to applaud those that can do wonders with the equiptment they have, however one uses and enjoys their car is a personal matter. That's why turbo questions are generally frowned upon because there are too many factors that generate the outcome from a particular product. A 12.4 with an EVO deserves kudos and as I said there are some with 50 trims that would be happy to hit that number. May all enjoy their rides! Mark

I understand that it's not the norm, but I wouldn't say a 12.4 on an Evo 16g is that incredibly impressive...especially in a 1g. That turbo has dyno'd more than 400hp on a well-tuned car, and people have run 11s on it. It all depends on how much you want to max the car out to. If you'll be happy with mid-12s, I think it is certainly a turbo that will get you there with fuel mods and some good tuning.

The crazy thing is, I felt I could of gotten a better time if I had ran it harder, I actually shifted just over 7,000, and my boost was only at 18-19 psi w/race gas, but I did launch it pretty hard off the line. I made three passes that day and the 12.4 was my best, I also took my dads stock 92,Typhoon the same day and got a 13.9 with it(race gas also),

The Typhoon is for sale if anyone wants one, it's red and has 67k actuall miles,
Asking 11,000.

Are you saying it would not boost higher by 7000 RPM?
Then you have an 11 second car that needs some tuning or has a leak in an IC line. i did not look back to see what you controlled boost with but what is it set at. Probably a dumb question if it maxes at 7k and 18-19 PSI. You should be able to run 23-24 PSI unless the stealth housing is hurting and that is a good possibility. mar
