So this is actually for my 89 CRX...those assholes at honda-tech won't let me post, and they all seem to be idiots anyway...so i thought i'd ask here!

I had to replace my flywheel on the crx, but i forgot to install the pilot bushing on the new flywheel and realized this after installing everything and trying to get it drivable...

So i pulled everything apart again and now the clutch is seized to the spline of the transmission and won't come off. The disk that is.

Two questions. How can I get it off? And does it actually need to move freely on the spline to engage properly?

Thanks guys!

It absolutely has to move freely. Did you grease the splines when you put thedisk on? As far as getting it off try wd40 and a little muscle.

I didn't re-grease it. That might have been part of the problem...

I tried some pb blaster and a sledge but it's on there really solid. I'm gonna keep crackin at it that way. Worst comes to worse i end up breaking the disk trying to get it off and buy a new one.

If you wiggle it around to find that sweet spot. If you just hit it it will #### and bind up.

It deff have to move freely on the splines like said before to engage and disengage properly or at all that matter. but to get it off you and try grease or some sort of penetrating oil and let it seep in for a lil while then pry it off but if all else fails use heat but use caution if you do this especially if you have one of those carbon or carbon/kevlar deals. just dont get it too hot and be careful where you put your flame and try to pry as you do it as well. hope this helps.

Well i was able to move it back more with PB Blaster and hammer...The problem is the disk flexes too much and wiggles a little bit around that center bearing where the spline is. I'm gonna try a gear puller after work tomorrow and see if that helps! Hopefully the spline on the tranny isn't screwed at all.

Yes, I was going to suggest a gear puller though I'm not sure where you would grab onto the flywheel with it.

Have you tried pumping the clutch with the slave cylinder attached to try and push it off with the hydrolic system, this has work for me in the past, even with a cable clutch?

It's a cable clutch.

I got it off though! Sadly at the cost of the clutch disk. A combo of angle grinder and precision dremeling. I just ended up buying a new clutch. Good news was the splines werent messed up at all on the tranny. I put her all back together and even got the tranny to slide on like a glove the first try! She's running great now.

Now i just gotta find the leak in the clutch line on my project GST :/
