Finally found a spare cylinder head and I started the long process of porting and polishing it. $700 ebay find, fully remachined, nice and clean, everything is in excellent condition. Also got lucky on marketplace and found someone up in Colorado that had a set of new 88.5mm weisco pistons and eagle rods for a very reasonable $600.

Next up I'm planning to swap out this head and have some fun with the car before doing a full rebuild, or maybe see if I can find a spare block and crank to build a full spare.

Well... I went to swap the head... And pulled everything out LOL.

After finally getting the head off I noticed there were 2 different types of piston in this thing, 3 flat top and 1 domed. All cast but with 2 different compression ratios. After seeing that I decided this thing can't wait for a rebuild.

After finally getting everything stripped down I found that the thermostat was seized shut, the coolant passages were full of water and super sludgy, the head gasket was leaking oil, rod bearings were cooked, main bearings were new, one piston had a chunk missing from it, all the motor and trans mounts had the wrong bolts holding them together,. In short this engine was a mess.
