after putting new motor/tranny with tre shift forks, taboo fork, tre spool...im having some problems...

i am having problems adjusting the tranny so that it will smoothly go into 1st and reverse....i am adjusting via the cable beneath the shiftknob..the one on the left to be exact..

if i spin the collar to shorten the cable it goes into reverse great, but will barely go into 1st, if at all...if i spin the collar to make the cable longer it goes into 1st great but wont go into reverse...theres really no happy medium, i can get it where it will go into both but neither is smooth or consistant.

ive got the adjustment above the peddle out as long as it will go...im thinking i possibly need the longer master cylinder rod?

anyone have this type of problem and find a fix? please let me know, thanx

is this on your usdm tranny or did you do a jdm swap?

If it's jdm, it's off a galant, which has shorter bracket on the tranny for the shift cables. They will need to be changed for the usdm bracket in order to shift into all the gears.

its a us motor/tranny..i should have been a little more clear..i built the motor/tranny thats what i meant by the swap..

i went ahead and welded a nut in the back of the c-bracket that the adjustment rod above the gas peddle goes into so i could get more adjustment..hopefully that clears it up

figured out what the problem was...after adjusting everything..bleeding the clutch..modifying the adjustment under the dash...all it was is that i forgot to tighten the bolts that hold the shift cables to the block OMG oh well..my clutch feels alot better now and at least i figured it out..always the damn stupid shit
