Larry,

Of course dynos are the best indicators of power, but if I had to guess I would say that around 50% of DSM enthusiasts have visited a drag strip, where as, less than 5% had any dyno time. So trap speed method still offers best sample.

>I dont know of many 16Gs trapping above 110 either. Maybe its just my area though..

Well, in my area, typical 16G’s run 108-112mph, typical T28 (big or small) are in the 104-106mph range. Which is still better than a T25 but not up to par to a 16G. If I had to equate it to something, I would say that it is closer to a 14B (which is not a bad thing, ether :) )

I agree.. we definitely have more track evidence then hardcore dyno #s :)

In regards to the trap speeds though I trapped 109 with my Big28, I know of a couple other times that are around the 112 marker. I know the 16G has done more. I dunno, I biased only because I owned a big28 and I loved that turbo. There were actually 3 DSMs running at the track with 16Gs when I had my Big28 and I beat all of them :)

i agree with both you guys the 16g and t-28 are great turbos and can give you great times either way its gonna be worth your money.. but i really think the 16g will be better for someone else here had said it has a lil more lag then the t-28 and thats what us fwd guys need when running high boost at the starting line but like i said either way your gonna be impressed with either

i would consider the 18g. remember with a fwd the extra lag from a 18g vs. a 16g can help you with traction problems, and the extra power at the end is perfect for high trap speeds. just my $.02

the 18g seems kinda like a waste of money to me for a few pennies more I could get a 20g? Just my thoughts I think its a toss up between a big T-28 and a 16g now just to find the best deal!

why not, that is even more lag...LOL. they cost about the same (around $825). but they will both support 400 hp.

I was reading the thread about the T28 killer it seems to spool a little slower than the T28 and flows 550+ CFm what do you guys think?

I think I speak for quite a few people when I say I want more info on the T28 Killer, I'm pretty sure I want to pick one up for my first turbo upgrade but I guess I'm a little hesitant as it's not that popular or proven yet. I'd like to see some #s from a well-tuned car with this turbo, but they don't seem to be out there. All I've gathered is that it must be at least a little better than FP's Big28 which happened to run an 11.82 in a full-weight 2G GSX, though it's said that his car could run 11s with any turbo(jokingly of course, just the car is a beast, and I'm sure he's a good driver). Ah well, I'll still be waiting for some numbers and more reviews until I have the money to get my whole setup.
