To make a long story short, I was driving around in the rain the whole day, and every passing semi and car completely soaked sprayed my car (100 gallons must have sprayed on my FMIC that day, water level high enough to get in my air filter maybe?), after a while it started to buck and sputter. After I refuel I get a check engine light, I check out the code with DSMLink and it said Code 0100 - Volume Air Flow Circuit Malfunction.
I make a log with DSMLink and I get no airflow readings at idle, but under acceleration I get normal airflow readings. As soon as I reach cruising speed on the gear it starts bucking and sputtering, and when it bucks and sputters I get no airflow readings again. I can clear the error and it doesn't come back the whole time I drive, but if I start it back up after being off; the check engine light comes back on.
Is there something wrong with my MAF or MAF translator? Could my FMIC have some water in it, and could the MAF have gotten damaged by water or something? It has never done this until the rain storm so it has to be water damage, right? Thank you for your help.
