im going to be installing arp head studs on my 7 bolt with 90k miles on it so i can safly hold a little more boost. ive watched a couple vids on it and it seems to be ok by not removing the head and doing them 1x1.

what do you guys think about doing them 1x1?

I would do it by the book, as if you were removing the head. I have also been told its okay to do them one by one, but why not just be safe so you dont mistakenly warp your head... I did mine a few months ago like this.

Pull valve cover
Start from outside to inside, loosen all bolts a 1/4 turn at a time until they are all finger loose
Then finger tighten your new arps in, and starting from inside to outside, tighten them a 1/4 turn or 1/2 turn until they are at 90 ft/lbs or whatever ft/lbs you are shooting for!

Worked like a charm for me. 26psi and no probs with new comp OEM HEADGASKET

Its been done many times by pulling the head bolts in the same sequence as you would torque them and installing the stud.

Head gasket should hold fine. Especially if its composite, it has a glue like texture that will hold. Unless you decide to put all your weight on the timing gears and tilt the head off. There is no compression in the piston chamber to make the headgasket "leak". So if you are quick, and gentle, you should be able to do it. I just know there is a proper sequence for head bolts, as well as problems with the head liking to warp. So I would do it with the motor cold (obviously.) And 1x1 or all at once, should be same either way, depending on how gentle you are. Also, say you pull 1x1, how can you torque the new ARPs down properly unless you do them all at once? Just things to consider... I have done more than one ARP swap, and we typically do it all at once in the way I described in the beggining of the post. And usually people open the radiator cap just to be sure theres no pressure. The swaps me and my pals have done, have lasted years, with NO head gasket issues. If anybody thinks this is poor advice, let me know and I will delete my posts.
