Hey guys i bought a treadstone turbo kit and for the oil return line it came with two of these fittings. One for the turbo and one for the oil pan

So the one for the oil pan is a 3/8 NPT pipe fitting. I bought a 3/8 tap for it and a 9/16 drill bit. So if i drill the oilpan and thread the fitting in there and then put a bolt on the back with some loctite should it work?

It's possible, but I wouldn't put money on it.

The proper way to do it is to either weld a fitting on, bolt on another flange (yes, that means drilling three holes), or using a bulkhead fitting.

The bulkhead fitting uses big nylon washers and has more threads on it to make sure the thing stays put.

Like I said on 2GNT, I have a bulkhead fitting laying around if you want it. PM me...

The issue is not money. The problem is i live in Canada and turbo parts are hard to come by and i dont want to wait 2 weeks for shipping.

I think this should work and if it does not i will just drill two more holes and buy a fitting or have it welded

i have the star kit on my eclipse and on my oil pan i have a fitting and a mounting flange like the top one in the picture but mine also came with another flange without the fitting and a oil gasket so i can drill three holes and but 2 bolts with nuts through the oil pan. The whole 3 hole thing worked out good for me i put gasket maker around the bolt holes and use the oil gasket. i say if there are threads in the bottom of the turbo for the oil return i say put the fitting on the bottom of the picture in the turbo and get some washers and gasket maker for the other fitting/flange assembly. the oil pan is kinda flemsy in the first place so i wouldnt chance the small fitting and nut idea

Your first idea will not work. It will leak. Maybe not immediatley, but its brass so at least braze it on.
