Oil pump gauge question

I have 97 GST and i been noticing that my oil pump gauge changes When i accelerates the oil gauge indicates that the oil pressure is half or more but when i am just idling it stays between the half and 1/4 range so it ranges when i accelerate and when i dont't. Not sure if its normal since this is my first DSM. Any advice?

The stock gauge only really tells you if you have any pressure at all, it isn't accurate.

It's normal for oil pressure to rise as your rpms do.

Good to have another DSM'r in the PNW.
