okay, so here is what i have been noticing. my car does not smoke blue (oil) the only smoke i ever see is white. however i am loosing oil constantly and it seems as though under my hood always seems to get a good oil coating. if i look down near where the head meets the block it is caked with oil. i just replaced the valve cover gasket about a half a week ago and i noticed the oil problem starting to happen. it also looks like my coolant cap is burning a hole into that heat shield on the hood. im noticing alot of oil residue in that general area also. i am pretty sure that my HG is going but not quite gone yet. i see puffs of white smoke after hard acceleration and then sometimes the puffs are more like clouds depending how i slow down. abrubltly, or if i just easy my way out of boost and go into vaccuum. so pretty much im loosing oil and burning coolant somewhere in the system. i dont think i am loosing coolant in the turbo and burning it in the exhaust that way cause the turbo shows no signs of going out. it still boosts fine and there is no shaftplay. im also noticing some oil spots under the car, which just started happening recently. i cant tell if there is oil mixed in with my antifreeze, i need to do a leakdown test on it along with a compression test. im just really short on money at the moment. :thumbdown thats what DSM's do to you i guess, drain your bank account. does anybody have an opinion or do all signs point to the HG?

Yes unfortunately your bank account and your lead foot are directly connected. Sounds like a head gasket. Or a major load of condensation in your exhaust. Coolant/water in oil makes oil look all milky.. little bubbles on the dipstick sometimes. You could also have a radiator shop do a leak test or do a compresion leakdown.

Ok first of all you need to do a compression test like stat! This will tell you if you have an upper engine problem. If you don't find one there, check your pcv valve. Pull it out and blow in the non threaded end. If you can blow through it replace it with oem. This might solve your valve cover leak. Also you should do a boost leak test.
