I have a 95 GSX with minimal mods. I am putting a 3" catback on soon, but my turbo just went out. I am thinking of buying the EVO 16G but I still have stock DP and fuel for now. If I got this turbo would it be ok to install it and drive it for a couple months till I can upgrade injectors and DP. I am going to do the fuel pump rewire when I install the new turbo too.
My mods include: K&NFIPK, RRE UICP, Greddy Type S BOV, Halman MBC, ACT 2100, Fadenza Flywheel
Thanks for the advice, JB

Yes if you only run like 10psi and I still don't recommend it. You should get a used T-25 until you can get all the supporting mods.

You can always run lower boost in the mean time. I'm running 16-17PSI (Probably could do 17-18PSI) depending on the weather with my Big28. I only have a bigger fuel pump, and it's not rewired. I do have a full exhaust, but lacking a downpipe shouldn't affect how much boost you can run. Instead, it will affect power and spoolup times.

If I do the fp rewire, get some injectors, and the 3" turbo back, would that be substansial (sp?) for this turbo.

As long as you at least get a fuel pump I would feel safer.

I'm not sure if there are any differences that would cause your car to act different than mine. But I had these questions when my turbo went out 14b.. I wanted to go with something a little bigger but did'nt have any mods.. I was told I would get fuel cut, and some said no don't worry about it.. Well i bought an evo III from slowboy and had it put on.. Wow what a great turbo, pulls alot harder than my 14b and it pulls all the way to redline.. Guess what no fuel cut no problems at all only the great feeling of alot more pull.. Go for it, they are great turbos..

OK, and thanks for the advice. I think I am going to get it, and a fuel pump. Just from curiosity how much will the fuel pump help w/o injectors. What exactly should I look for while logging. I know timing and all, but I am a novice at logging and don't really know what any of it means. And as long as my o2 reading are still in the rich zone I should be ok, right? Thanks JB
