First of all, let me introduce myself. The name is Brandon and I have ventured over to the DSM world for a dedicated drag car build (DD is a '04 STi). I got a smoking deal on a good '94 Talon shell and 2nd gen 4g63, so I decided I needed another project for 2011. The goal of this build is to have it done by the 2011 Shootout.

I'm here to soak up all the knowledge and info I can, and for a while, will read up more than I post, LOL.

Anyway, I have started the build list and wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions or do's/don't for this build.

I'm looking for suggestion/experience on turbo selection. I seem to be going back and forth between the GT42, GT35, and the Hx40 among others. I'm not opposed to running a shot of N20 in order to spool something large. As for numbers, I have no idea what to expect out of this setup (would like minimum 600awhp w/ 8500rpm rev), but I am open to suggestions on which way to go with the build as I am a EJ25 guy at heart and the 4g63 is a new ballpark for me.
 
From what I have read and researched, you may want to use a 6-bolt instead of the 7 bolt (2g 4g63) if you are gonna put that much money into the project.
 
stick with kelford cams 272s. An hx40 has done 10.3s now but with lots of room to work with. It also spools very fast no need for nitrous. arp l19 head studs will hold the higher boost. check my profile/mod list if youre looking for 600+ awhp
