After clutch install car wont turn over. Push start worked. But when i turn key all i get is humming from walbro 255. No starter click. No motor turn. But push start works good. I think either starter got messed up, or somthing bout a clutch pedal switch idk. what yall think i should start with?

Did you re-adjust the clutch pedal? Did you check the clutch safety switch? (Under the dash, Push the clutch pedal with hand and you'll see the safety switch being pushed in by a part of the upper part of the pedal shaft). D/c the safety switch *MAKE SURE CAR IS IN NEUTRAL, WITH THE E-BRAKE ON* , And try to start the car, See if it starts.
I used caps on that part because I remember about 6 years ago or so on this site, Someone were at a lookout cliff and their clutch safety switch were not hooked up, I remember them saying they bumped the key with the car in gear, And it almost turned into a nightmare being right next to the cliff being the car jumped forward (Where normally it would not do that being you need to keep the clutch pushed in to start the vehicle.)

Did you hook up the ground for the starter? Way back when I didn't know how to do my own work, the idiot mechanic that changed my clutch couldn't figure out why it wouldn't start. Turns out he didn't ground the starter.

There is also a small spade connector that connects to the starter that if not connected, it won't start. I think it's the live wire for the starter solenoid. I had a problem where the spade connector kept sliding off, so I would have to reconnect it every time before I started my car.

I only unbolted starter did not disconect wires left on block to do clutch. Should of had it checked:ohdamn: no click from it nothing. All power systems good so ? guess check this switch in the morning then take starter out if that dont work:thumb:

can someone find elaborate on the starter solenoid and where the safety switch that i have looked for many times before
