ive got a wierd problem. it feels like my car is running on 2 cylinders. under any type of accelaration, constant back firing. car barely accelarates
i checked to see if i was gettin spark, when i took out the plug wires they all sparked off the valve cover so its getting spark. when i took out the 2 plug wires on passenger side, no difference in car idle.

any thoughts on what this can be ??

thanks jon

ok, ill fix that. w/ an inproper* gap, would it affect my car that bad like its doing ?? or could it be anything else ?

ok, my plugs are correctly gapped, all my injectors are working, all the plugs are firing, no boost leaks, compression is fine, but my car is still running crappy. at idle, i can pull off the 2 passenger side plug wires and there will be no difference in idle. car is still backfiring what can it possibly be ????

How did you conclude all the plugs were firing?

Try swapping spark plugs from cylinder #1 or #2. See if that changes anything.

If you pulled the plug wires while the car was running and it made no change then something is wrong related to those cylinder/cylinders.

Did you pull both the wires at once or one at a time?

when i pull my plugs wires off individually, they will bounce sparks off the valve cover.

ive tried switching the plugs, no differemce

Did this happen out of the blue, or have you done some recent work on the car?

i just put a new longblock in stage 2 block stage 5 head from slowboy

check it for what ??

it worked when i had the stock motor in.

do i have to ground the transistor or coil pack? i have a magnus intake mani so rite no, the transistor and coil pack are pretty much hanging loose

Sounds like a problem with the coil pack. Get new coil packs , i would recomend the cop setup from bushur racing.

does anyone have a pic of the plug wires to the coil pack??

i have the haynes manual, and im 99% positive ive matched them up rite but a pic is always clearer* just trying to rule out any problem thanks jon
