Ok so just picked up a 93 tsi AWD. The car came with a touchscreen DVD player that I was told needed to be wired correctly to work. So I pulled it and found the guy cut the factory harness and tried wiring it himself. Turns out he had no idea what he was doing. Well I ordered new harnesses and while I was wiring them in a random wire touched metal and I heard a pop. I was curious as to why a black wire had power to it when the car was off. Turns out the guy just ran a wire straight from a open spot on the interior fuse panel to the radio area, I'm assuming he intended to use it as a constant power source for the radio? Well That happened to be the wire that touched metal. So now the dome light, brake lights, radio, door locks and blower motor all don't work. Seat belts only work when car is on. While the Dash lights, rear defrost as well as head lights, running light and turn signals all work just fine. 10A room fuse is brand new and so are all three fuses on positive battery terminal. I've checked all the fuses that have todo with radio and tail light. I've been trying to search and am coming up with simple responses of check fuses, which I've done. So any suggestions on what to look at or try next would be very helpful.

Thanks
Ryan

sounds like something shorted out, which could be a big job. not sure where to start really. the other day my door poppers stopped working but I was lucky first wire I checked happened to be the problem. I would suggest not doing it if your not comfortable playing with electrical stuff

there is a fuse box under the hood. you want to check your high amp fuses and fusible links. also check the ones on you rpositive battery cable.

I like to get my oil psi off the head where the least pressure is seen. And my fuel psi sender is at the end of my rail.
