Caledonia,
Checked search and only found 1 post. The whole thing was a mess with about 300 replies of people saying different stuff. I want to straighten this out in my head.

I'm putting in a Evo 3 Big 16g turbo in a month. Is the only other thing I need a 3" turboback and 3" exhaust housing (or is that included in a turboback)? Or is bigger injectors + fuel pump needed right away as well..?

With the 16G you should get the bigger fuel pump and possibly the injectors. If ya can't do that just get the turbo back exhaust. Everything should be there and ready to bolt up.

Or you could do 550cc injectors and 255 fuel pump with an safc2 to tune it..

I ran my evo III 16g on stock setup just fine, you need a 2g install kit tho. Then go ported manifold, evo o2 housing, 3" exhaust, and downpipe if you've got external wastegate or can control creep

He has a 1g not a 2g so that install kit is not needed.

I run a 16g on internal with no problem. Ninja style.

IMO, its a waste to put an EVO3 16G on your car without fuel upgrades, because you're not going to be able to see any performance increase, and you may be opening yourself up to a bunch of issues from boost creep instead. Make sure you get the turbine/wastegate section of the 16G ported before you install it. Unless your stock turbo is blowing smoke and on its last leg, you are doing things in the wrong order. The EVO3 16G doesn't really shine until you get it up into the 19-20psi+ area. Before that, the performance of the stock 14b is almost as good.
I'm a big fan of the EVO3 16G, but remember that the MAIN reason for upgrading to a bigger turbo is so that you can run more boost safely. But, without the fuel, MAS, and ECU upgrades, you are still going to be limited to 16-17psi, well within the stock 14b's range.

Those threads were merged for a reason, and that reason was to keep dangling strings like this from putting the information in other places.

Sorry you might have to put a bit of effort in to glean the free information off this site. Try asking your local mechanic to take out a couple hours and explain thing to you, and see how well that goes.
