need help from electrically inclined

I have MAJOR electrical issues with my car. Its way too complicated to post on the forums. If anyone is good with wires and that stuff shoot me a PM. Or if anyone knows somebody personally in NJ that can do me a huge favor by helping me out for a low cost Id SERIOUSLY appreciate it.

Maybe this has nothing to do with your particular problem since you haven't actually stated it, but usually when you have widespread electrical problems or crazy stuff happening that seems to defy logic (ie. you turn on your turnsignals and your windows roll down or you turn on your headlights and the radio comes on etc.) the problem is almost always bad grounds. Check your main ground and make sure everything is kosher there before doing anything drastic. If you have access to a voltmeter check for continuity/excessive resistance across your negative battery cable as well. On a battery cable there should be extremely little or no resisitance. Ive checked my grounds and they are all clean and shinny. I cant find the draw on my power system. I bought a brand new 150amp alternator form alterstart and I think I got a bad one so i sent it back. Even with my old alternator which was 90amps still did not maintain my battery, even with my stereo off. I took out the DVD player and 6 disk changer in hopes to lighten up soem draw. Hopefully I get the alternator back tomorrow and see whats good when I strap it back on. NOW should I run a 4 GA wire from the alternator directly to the positive terminal since it is a H.O Alternator?

how does the starter sound? we get a couple of cases where the starter solenoid is the drain. alternator, battery, and cables/wires. are you having to charge the battery constantly?

How are you checking for draw? How long does it take for the battery to discharge?

how should my starter sound? I never have any problems starting the car up. Doesnt make any noise trying to crank over either. I use a volt meter device my dad has to check the alternator and battery. Both were reading 10.4 the other day, so I know my volt gauge is correct in my car. I do have a 2.4 farad capacitor too. That couldnt cause a problem could it?

When checking the draw you should us an amp meter.Hook the amp meter between the negative battery terminal and the negative ground cable..Monitor the amps on your multimeter and right it down..keep the key in the ignition off and all doors closed etc because this will cause draw..Record the reading on a peice of paper.. When all the computers(ecu,bcm,abs modules etc) in the car have powered down your reading on the amp meter should be no more than .04milliamps to .08milliamps on the high side.You may want to just check that spec in a manual because all vehicles vary. If it is high then I would start unplugging fuses and relays under the hood from the fuse panel and monitoring the multimeter to locate the cause of the draw. by doing this and monitoring the multimeter you should see the milliamps drop on the multimeter. Just remember that certain modules have to power down, this could take 10-20 minutes..I would say that a huge significant drop after the car is powered down is were you will find your draw, but these can be a real PITA to figure out..I do them all the time, except they are mostly GM vehicles because I work at the local dealer..Goodluck
