You need the entire engine or just a bottom end?
If 1200 for the entire thing then it's an "Ok" price but since it's got a warranty it sounds even better to me now. I'd pick it up if you can't find cheaper bro.

If you need just a bottom end and a head rebuild I'd go shopping elsewhere.

Don't forget that's canadian $$ so it's more like 900$ US aybe cheaper , I donno if I need my head rebuilt , might take it over to a shop for them to look at it

A warranty is as good as the guy giving it and I would look closer to what that warranty covers. It is amazing how people still fall for a trick like that: how can you warrant a used engine is beyond me. And to pay that kind of money for a 7bolt (if it is a 7 bolt) that has that many miles (km) when you can just get a 6bolt rebuilt shortblock together with fixing your head.
I know that it will cost more to build an engine but if you buy a “boat anchor” that needs to be rebuilt in the near future you might end up spending more. The only way I would buy a used engine is if it would be from a friend I know and trust that has an engine with a known history.

i wouldnt trust a used engine unless I knew exactly what it had been through. He says there is a warranty but what does it cover and how do you know if something breaks that he wont blame it on you and say it was an "installation error." Be cautious so you dont waste money trying to save money.
