A local guy can make me an 3 inch mandrel bent o2 eliminator downpipe which is made of aluminized steel then ceramic coated inside and out. Would a stainless steel downpipe be better? I found one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/89-9...002336719QQcategoryZ33630QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Also, this guy is offering to make me intercooler pipes of the same material. Again, would stainless steel be better for intercooler pipes? Thanks.

It probably only depends on how much you want to spend. the alumanized DP might rust at some point as would the IC piping, but you could easily paint the IC piping to help prevent rust. If you arent worried about rust on the DP go with the 02 elim. probably better gains and less chance of creep problems.

if hes gonna ceramic coat it, then that would be better than a stainless downpipe. also which one is cheaper, if you can get the local guy to do it for less than the DP on ebay go with the o2 eliminator

and about the IC piping i would go for it. but i would pass on the ceramic coating for the ic pipes. just get them painted with some high temp paint. i saw a thread about putting exhaust wrap on your ic pipes, and the ceramic will do the same as the ex. wrap, keep the heat inside. which you dont want, because it keeps alot of heat in your ic pipes.

Be careful with this auction...

1. They claim it's 3" inlet and 3" outlet... which is false, look at the inlet. Yeah... it tapers down to like 2,5"... Ok no big deal, but it still is incorrect.

2. They say there's a built-in resonator... but there's none to be found instead of the cat... which means that if they really have a resonator in there, the inside diameter of that downpipe is all but 3"!!! Must be more like 2¼" and only gets to a real 3" only in that resonator...

This is just my canadian .02$ ;) , but if it were me, i wouldn't buy it... It's too easy to get ripped off on ebay so as soon as I see something wrong on these kind of ads, :nono:
