The car was running PIG RICH...air/fuel ratio was literally off the chart.

There's plenty more hp on tap, just need to tune the thing.

Oh, this was in 4th at 12lbs of boost.

You should generally have a baseline tune before going in though, to save yourself time and money.

Yeah you should've tuned it b/c those numbers are REALLY low. Isn't that stock or lower than stock hp?

His horsepower is being shown at the wheels, not crank hp

exactly... 178 at the wheels, our cars have 210 at the flywheel so its around 170 or so to the wheels. With a t28 i hope you'd get atleast 250 or more to the wheel but thats the bare minimum.

Yes, you are VERY rich. Have you done anything to your stock fuel? If so, do you have any way of trimming the air/fuel ratio? Keep it at the stock psi setting till you can get some of the things described in this post. You are in desperate need of fuel mods.

Don't forget he's at 12psi, that's nothing. I think if he ran it at 15psi it would be over 200whp. So it's not THAT bad

If I was running that rich I would have upped the boost myself. If you get fuel cut, back it off. If not, keep watching the wideband O2. That is the closest thing he has to see what is going on. He can't mess with the fuel, but maybe he can make-up with the amount of PSI he runs.

Looks like this thread survived after all. I coulda swore I posted it, went to check for replies and didn't see it. Since I usually preview first I figured I previewed the thread but didn't post....hence the repost.

Anyway...

I have an SAFC, just need to find time to install it.

I took the car to the dyno as is because I bought it with most of the mods on it. It's a full-on "let's see what we have here" situation. You know the deal, get you hands on someone else's project. I can't say for sure what the fuel system is composed of, but the pump doesn't have the tell-tale sign (slotted floorpan) of a Walbro 255 install. the injectors look dead-nuts stock. I know for a fact that some parts were removed from the car when it was sold to the guy I bought it from. The Greddy Profec B was removed but the soleniod box was still installed. If the previous owner was boosting it I hope he upgraded the fuel. I'll just have to poke around and go through things.

The pull was made in 4th gear due to the fact that the car has ~1:1 drive ratio in 4th. Of course it'd create higher numbers in 3rd...you're running through gear reduction. I'll admit, though...2nd is hellacious with the 28.

I've never seen a car run so damned rich. Guess it's time to up the boost.

When it's all said and done, it was a baseline run. Taught me what the car needs. (not like I didn't already know)

Actually on a FWD DSM, 3rd gear is closer to 1:1.
