Paint is in great condition! How many miles? Strange the trunk stickers are light silver bc white cars got the dark silver ones. Unless it was different for Spyders for some stranger reason.

This weekend I replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs, and spark plug wires. While I was changing the wires, I discovered that one of them had corroded inside of the coil pack. Of course I had to replace the coil pack which means that I had to remove the fuel rail. All in all, fun times!

I read all the horror stories about changing out the fuel filter and it was rather difficult but I used an impact gun with a 19 mm socket on the top and just used regular 14 and 19 mm wrenches on the bottom that I squeezed together to loosen the nut.

Next month I plan on changing all of the belts, including the timing and balancer shaft belts.

2 weekends ago, I replaced the timing belt, balancer shaft belt, tensioner, pulleys, and water pump. She's just turned over 70k miles and I wasn't sure this had been done. The timing and balancer belts actually looked in great shape, and the timing belt covers are missing some bolts, so maybe they had been replaced, but now I know for sure.

As it was failing (wobbly when running) I also replaced the crank pulley (harmonic balancer) and all accessory belts.

The passenger side front shock had blown, so I replaced all 4 with KYB AGX adjustable shocks, set to "3" (out of 4). Much stiffer. I might actually lower it to "2" as I'm not racing this girl.

There is still a low idle issue. I've replaced the idle air motor, and read all of the threads on this all-to-common problem. It only happens after putting the car in drive. After that, she won't idle above 5-600 or so. Sometimes as low as 400. I will be replacing all vacuum hoses with red silicone hoses in the near future to see if it's a mild leak, but I think it's likely an AC or power steering pump bearing issue. Or the ECU. She runs pretty smooth at idle, even at those RPMs, and no OBD codes.

The two preventative maintenance items that I have left are to have the tranny (auto) and radiator flushed. Both are best done by a shop due to the machines they have to do the flushes.

I am starting the process of cleaning up the engine bay now. Going with a red/blue theme as I like those colors. I'll be looking for a valve cover-cover (engine cover?) but I'll also be removing the valve cover to clean / replace gasket / paint.

Good times! So far she's been a reliable daily driver and all around fun car to drive.

Clear headlights and backup lights!

New FELPRO valve cover gasket, stainless steel bolts, and soda blasted valve cover and upper exhaust heat shield.

Rattle can paint all around. The brake fluid reservoir bracket was rusty so a good wire wheel and rust fixing paint to stop that.

Engine bay detailed and trim restorer applied.

Wire wheel rash on belly. (Fun!)
