Muffler Replacement

I want to replace my stock muffler on my 99 GS-T with a new muffler due to some rust showing. I would like to replace my entire exhaust with a new cat-back system but funds are limited right now so I wanted to start with the muffler and then work my way into a custom exhaust. First question - would my inlet for the stock pipes on my car be 3"? I think this is right but wanted to make sure it would fit. I heard that a 3" fits onto the stock exhaust of the turbo Eclipse better. Second question - what muffler would you suggest? I have looked into the Apexi N1 and the Megan Racing (I believe N1 also). Just wondering what would give me a good sound. Lastly - would any or all of these new mufflers angle out with a simple hack-saw and weld job or could they come straight out the back like I'd like? Thanks for all your help on my Newb questions.

I say save up a little bit of money, unless its really critical you get a new muffler asap. Check out the exhaust systems here.

They come straight out like you want and look nice. I was very happy with the VRS system I had on my laser.

If you really must, you can just get a muffler and get the piping later of course. Just talk to the muffler shop its no big deal to do.
