Toronto,
I'm doing a search on it as I'm typing this, I'm searching on what is missing link, but I'd like somone to tell me if its nessesary for a 420A turbo kit upgrade (specifically the Star Kit) I have an SAFC 2 in my car already. (without a turbo)

Yup, you have a 99 so you'll need it. Early model 2g's, like myself hehe, don't actually need like you will. Your ecu will start "freaking out" as it's always put, when you begin to boost. It'll see all this extra air blah blah blah, missing link fixes and keeps from getting a cel thrown.

wrong...you can't use a SAFC with a missing link...please do your homework

I know you can't use them together, I have done my homework, thanks for the flame. "one reads map voltage, the other manipulates it" I never told him to use them both.

EDIT: hahaha, I didn't even notice that he had the S-AFCII, my bad :p

So if I have the SAFC2 already, is there anything I can use to get rid of the fuel cut problem or rev limter?
I think I read somewhere that once I'm turbo running double digit boost, then I have to start worrying about fuel cut/rev limiter problems, but I'm not sure if that problem exsist with lower boost. (something do with the ECU sensing positive manifold pressure)?

I heard bigger injectors and tuning the SAFC2 can help.

I'm new to all this tuning stuff, and I have my SAFC 2, using it to tune my N/T right now, but I plan on going turbo and was hoping to keep using it.

Somebody will have to pinch me to see if I'm dreaming if some would answer the DAMM question. NT turbo conversion with SAFC......FCD...how do you get it to work....I know it's been done...what the secret? We've already discussed we can't use missing link with it..so what does work...It would be nice posting how too's instead of can't do that.

The final solution to the problem is:

Everybody get rid of your FMU, SFMU, AFPR, SAFC, Missing link crap

I have wasted too much time and money on all of those parts

GO BUY A STANDALONE:

Megasquirt

Defi 7

Tec 3

AEM EMS

well after reading a turbo faq off of 2gnt.com I think there is another product called the Fuel Cut Defender. FCU. It comes standard in the Hahn kit, and is somewhere between $80-$100 extra for the start kit. I could be wrong, but it seems to me, that this problem has already been solved. SO, I buy the fuel cut defender, and tune with my SAFC2 problem solved.

I don't have money for a stand alone, or anything that requires a laptop. I've already got the SAFC2 so I might as well use it.

will someone explain megasquirt to me? how much does it cost and how hard is it to build.

megasquirt is a semi stand alone system
i call it semi because it contols fuel and spark
your stock ecu handles everything else

it is a DIY kit that allows you to use whatever size injector you want at stock fuel pressure
it can be hooked up to a stock o2 sensor or wideband and be set to self correct for boost
plus it has datalogging capabilities. for fuel pressure a 1:1 like the aermotive works well
the software to tune with is free for download and there are a lot of options to choose from
unlike the portfueler it has the ability to correct for incoming air temp
and enrichment maps that correct for water temp
the unit itself cost app 150ish to buy all the parts and assemble yourself
plus the cost of injectors and the aeromotive
most people have an experienced person do it for them
that usually runs around 300ish

go to www.2gnt.com
there are tons of posts
