Currently im running an EVO 3 16g turbo with a walbro 190 along with some supporting mods(mods avail. in prof.) If i ever run the car around or higher than 16 p.s.i., if the engine is not super warm, once i near full boost while accelerating i will experience a major problem. The car will all of a sudden feel like i hit a brick wall. It will make a loud bang, and it literally feels like i have hit something (almost as if the brakes were applied full force) and then feels fine once again. I have researched and it seems that it is either fuel cut or MAJOR knock. But what i would like to know is what would be the best way to resolve this problem? I plan to buy an S- AFC 2 as long a some kinda of logger (i.e. http://www.dsmloggers.com/2gkit.html) Can anyone please help me resolve this problem. Can anyone recommend a better logger? I did look into DSMlink but i dont think i will be upgrading much more after the my fuel management is in place. Any help is appreciated. Please dont flame i have researched to no end but i still feel i dont have enough knowledge of the problem to resolve it myself.

Sounds like fuel cut. Although you have the upgraded fuel pump, you're going to need bigger injectors & some sort of fuel management (i.e., SAFC2) if you want to run more than stock psi on that EVO3 16G. Right now, you need to lower your boost to 14 psi or less, since you're essentially on the stock fuel system. Get some larger injectors, something for fuel management, & something to tune with. It's really a better idea to get those things before getting the bigger turbo. ;)

In the meantime, while you're saving up cash for those items, do some of the basic system checks like a boost leak test if you haven't already done so. Make sure everything is operating correctly when it comes time to tune & things will go a lot better. :thumb:
