Loctite on front case bolts to block...

Hello everyone. I wanted to how many people use loctite on the bolts that go from the front case to the block. I thought about it and I probably should've used loctite. I was thinking since the bolts have already been torqued down on the new gasket, it wasn't a good idea to take the bolts back out and retorque. I dont know though if it's okay for me to pull them out one at a time and loctite them since they have already been torqued down. I already installed the front case a few days ago. I installed my front case dry (no copper spray), is it okay if I do take the bolts out to apply some loctite on them and retorque it? What's the best way to do that if I'm okay to do so? Take one bolt out at a time to apply loctite while the rest is torqued down, then off to the next? Thanks.

I personally won't use Loctite...as long as you torqued them correctly you'll be fine

But if you really want to, I'd use the blue instead of the red

I also don't use the copper stuff, I let the gasket do its job of sealing...sometimes I will use a very very tiny bit of RTV at the"corners" just to help hold up the gasket before I install the fromt cover

I actually used the copper spray the first time I did the front case, like a couple of weeks ago. Then changed my mind and ordered a new gasket and did it dry. Just not too sure if I should have used loctite on the bolts to the block from the front case. I have my balance shafts removed and I also have poly motor mounts. I guess I was just worried about them getting loose since I will have more vibration now from the bse. Thanks.

I would like to see more answers from everybody. Not because I dont like the answer I got. Just want to see what a majority of people are doing based on everyone's experiences... Thanks.

I didnt use loctite on the case to block bolts,but I did use it on the oil pump drive gear bolt.

If I decide to add blue loctite to them, can I get away by taking the bolts out one at a time to apply loctite and retorque? Are there any ill effects by doing this, untorqueing, reinstalling and retorqueing since the new gasket has already compressed... also front case warping since it is aluminum? Not being cheap, if I need to get new gasket I will, but at the same time if not needed and I'm okay by doing the bolts one at a time would save me the time waiting for a new gasket. Thanks.

As long as you have properly torqued them it shouldnt be an issue. I have eliminated my balance shaft,complete polyurethane bushings all the way around,and I have yet to have them back out. If you want to use loctite for piece of mind,then by all means go for it. If you are going to use loctite,just pull them one at a time,and put them back in one at a time so the gasket stays flush against the block.

I used copper spray and loctite on a whole bunch of my stuff....yea sure if you torqued them down thats nice. But thats like saying "Here is your bulletproof vest, but we aren't giving you a helmet" I want all the protection i can get

True...but the factory doesn't Loctite nor copper spray any of that stuff neither...I also understand that a car straight from the factory is also stock, but still

Either way, as long as in the end there's no leaks

Like you said, car's from the factory arent meant to be tampered with. I like to Loctite and Copper Spray certain things like my front case.
