Just dropped another 6 bolt into my 96 gst. It started right up but it revs really slow and has no power. It always builts boost when reving it. Goes to like 20 psi on my after market boost guage. Cars also in time. I also noticed my bov is fluttery really bad like the vacum lines off it.

Well i thought the timing was off. The motor supposly had good compression. I just did a compression test and got 145 105 105 145 from 4321. It looks like its 3 teeth off. Would that cause the low compression. I hope.

Yes it could, but you at 3 teeth you probably ahve other problems. At this point, your best course of action is to retime the motor to make sure EVERYTHING is in time. Then check the car again. If you got lucky, you didn't bend any valves.

My oil guage isnt working either. Like i have no oil pressure. I changed the sending unit and still nothing. I did notice one thing. When i first turned the key to oil guage shot up all the way and was like stuck there even when the car was off. Then it went down and never moved again. :(:(

3 teeth off sounds like bent valves to me.
That will also explain the motor making so much boost on light accl.
Retime the belt and check compression.
BTW the only way you will get real oil pressure is by installing a mechanical gauge.
Good luck with this!

Well i know to get an accurate reading is with an after market guage. But mine doesnt move at all.

Yeah the rings are always a possibility but the timing doesnt look right and then compression test showed a weird reading with 14 having decent compression and 23 with lower

So fix your timing and get back to us.

If its a used block, rings could be an issue but it wouldn't explain what you see as symptoms. Fix the timing.

Yes sir sean. Ill be up and get it done tomorrow. Thanks for the help and ill get back to you.
