Is the Greddy 52mm EGT temp range enough?

I want to pick up the 52mm Greddy EGT gauge however it says it ranges from 300c- 1200c.. is this enough of a temp range, im more concerned with the higher temp range and it is true that the Greddy 60mm gauges won't fit in the regular gauge pillars?
BTW is the Autometer boost gauge better than the VDO or are they the same as for accuracy?
AND lastly if i was to install an oil pressure gauge does it require a new sending unit?
