Installing KETLESS ENTRY (remote start)?

I have power door locks and called a local place to see how much it would be to have keyless entry installed. Of course, they want like $150 or something. That's w/o remote start (it's another $99 for that). So, although I don't really need remote start, I think I could do both myself for much cheaper.

Any feedback? I would like COMPUstar, but you tell me.

Ebay has keyless systems with remote start for like $30 bucks. I put in a power lock and window kit with keyles/remote start in his truck that didn't have power anything. Took me maybe an hour. There are plenty of wiring diagrams on various vfaqs that tell you what colors the lock actuator wires and ignition wires are.

150 for just keyless entry Thats a rip :thumbdown You can either go to ebay or go to meijers and get a remote start and keyless for way cheaper for way cheaper. Or just call around to different places

Hi,

I was asked for the same price when I went to the dealer to check for how much a keyless entry installation would be. He said he would have to disassemble part of the cart to check whether it is factory or dealer keyless and then proceed with the installation. Do you know how would one know whether it is factory or not, I have a SECURITY light coming up but that means my alarm is factory, I was just wondering. I got keyless entry installation instructions (attached is a copy) but nothing about remote start, does anyone of you knows how to do it and what keys are pressed on the remote for the executing?

I have a wiring diagram that could help it shows all the colors of wires and what they go to and from and weather the are - or +. I would attach it but i dont know how. If you email me i will send them in an attachment. Im installing keyless entry on friday this week. The kit was only 75$ at slickcars.com and it comes with and actuator for the trunk hatch.

Ultra Start has a decent looking manual transmission safe remote start for about $60.

can anyone point me closer in the direction of the 2g tach wire? I've read about pin 6 on the 18 pin connector in the center of the dash and that theres one on the pass side of the firewall too but I can't seem to find either. Does anyone have a bit better of a description or pictures?

also... where is the blue and white for the 2g parking relay? ....if I can't find it could I tap the hazard switch or would it possibly not charge since it blinks them?

I have a 1G Talon. So is it OK for me to get a keyless entry kit at say target or mejiers and it should work ok on my car. right now my i have to open the door thru the passenger side and then unlock the driverside door in order to get in. kinda annoying. speakin of which anybody know approximately how much it would cost to get that keyhole fixed/replaced? or should i just get the keyless remote and bypass all that.

we always put in Spal keyless systems at the stereo shop i used to work at. good systems imo. we had very few problems out of them. i think just the keyless was like 75$ and another 50 or so to get the remote start added to that.

i really like mine for my 1G i got it off ebay, its by far the best system ive researched, it comes wiht 2 remotes, it has keyless entry, remote start and a 2 min turbo timer built in, and has a TON more features in it, its made by mannix i kinda wanted a do all system and i think i found it IMO
